Obstetrics Patients:

Recently with COVID testing capabilities expanding we are recommending that patients be screened weekly starting at 38 weeks gestation until delivery.  The goal of testing is to ensure as safe and secure a delivery environment as possible for you and your baby.  Bayhealth is also requiring up to date testing 3-4 days prior to all scheduled C-sections.  Through our partnership with LabCorp we are able to offer Covid-19 testing to asymptomatic patients based on these recommendations.  The goal is to prevent hospital infection and spread by being as proactive as possible.  If possible, all pregnant patients are also recommended to keep strict home quarantine after 38 weeks.  As guidance or rules change we will try and update as soon as possible.

Please advise we ARE NOT seeing or testing any patient experiencing COVID symptoms.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, including temperature over 100*F we ask that you call our office and we will provide orders to go to one of the Bayhealth drive thru locations for testing patients with symptoms.

Should you have any questions please speak with your provider at your next visit, send us a direct MyChart message or call our office.
