Integrative Health and Medicine for Women and Men
by Dr. Michelle Cooper
What is Integrative Medicine?
Dedicated to YOU, a new program within Dedicated to Women ObGyn, offering Integrative Medicine services for both men and women. Integrative Medicine blends concepts of traditional and holistic medicine to deliver a personalized, whole body approach to aging, health, and wellness.
Integrative medicine partners the patient and practitioner in the healing process, combining conventional mainstream practice with wisdom and technology.
Treating the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – is one of the primary principles of integrative medicine, promising more time, attention and a broader approach to help people regain and maintain optimum health.
Integrative treatments incorporate a wide range of techniques, tools and belief systems to enhance the strength and ability of the body.
Who benefits from this model?
- Patients who feel that their health needs are not being met by our current system of traditional medicine.
- Patients who continue to suffer despite medications, and want to get to the root cause of their problems, rather than just management of their condition.
The “Integrative Approach” takes more time than a traditional approach. Unfortunately, many insurance plans do not value this type of approach, and do not cover the costs of a physician spending the extra time with patients. We will bill your insurance for your visit, but your insurance may not cover all or part of the visit. Some of the testing ordered may also not be covered.
- Hormonal disorders
- Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- Mood disorders (anxiety, depression)
- Sexual issues
- Auto-immune diseases
- Sleep disorders
- Gastrointestinal issues
- Food sensitivities
